Three important reasons: 1. There was a need in the communities of Bettendorf and eastern Scott County for health-care services. Research of more than 500 residents indicated a need for emergency, birthing, inpatient care and other services that were not readily available. Trinity’s mission was to help meet the needs that were identified and improve the health of the community. 2. The new move of inpatient care from Trinity North Campus in Davenport to the new Bettendorf facility redistributed hospitals to improve access in the Iowa Quad-Cities. Previously, there were three hospitals in Davenport, with Trinity North and Genesis Medical Center’s West Campus just blocks apart. By relocating the hospital, Trinity improved access to the 150 licensed beds Trinity already had. At the same time, this modernized the services, thus improving the distribution of acute care resources in Scott County. 3.
