Why didnt mississippi ratify the 13Th amendment?
Mississippi did not ratify the 13th amendment with 2 sections because they acknowledged that the true law of the land was the 13th amendment with 20 sections. Thats where the compensation was for the slave holders for the emancipation of there slaves. As a fact, the 13th amendment with 2 sections was one of the dead badges of laws and declared unconstitutional in 1883.
