Why do all the “new” country music songs sound alike?

For the same reason all the hit pop songs, all the hit rock songs, and all the hit rap songs sound alike: the people in the record industry think that people want the same, lame sounds. It’s funny that, back in the 50s, the Louvin Brothers almost didn’t get signed to Capitol Records because Capitol already had a brother guitar and mandolin duet act (Jim and Jesse) and they didn’t want two similar acts. Contrast that with today, where they sign 100 people who sound exactly like whatever is hot right now.
