Why do Australians oppose the wearing of the Islamic burka face veil?
I am Muslim and I am against wearing the niqab (face veil). It is not related to Islam at all, it was worn before Islam to protect the skin from all the sand, but now, it is considered “Islamic”. Well, it is not in the Quran, and you can ask any Imam and he/she will tell you it is cultural by root. We as immigrants have no right to impose our culture on you people, it is your country, your culture, and if you are trying to protect your way of life, good for you 🙂 However, I don’t think the state should ban it, they should discourage it, and educate those who wear it, tell them about its origins, tell them it is cultural.
