Why do banks close so early??

0

They have lots of things to do with balancing out their cash drawers, drawing money for the next day, completing the paperwork (computer docs) for the day’s transactions, etc. The bank’s employees normally will not leave the building before 5:00 pm themselves just because of all of the followup work that has to be done after they close the doors. When you complete transactions after 3:00 pm on Friday, the transactions are normally not posted until Monday’s work is completed because the books for Friday are already being closed. Friday’s extended hours are for businesses that need change/cash for the weekend or want to make a deposit so the money/cash isn’t at the business location over the weekend.
