I’ve read a few times that Asian culture is slightly more tolerant of the women rather than the men marrying outside the race. The explanation included something about the surviving dowry system which makes girl children a ‘burden’. So, as long as she marries someone economically viable – that burden is lessened and plus – the outside culture will not require a dowry. As for black women, reports and studies claim that so many black women fear the ways in which we are viewed that we’re less willing to risk attaching ourselves to men outside the race.
