Why do Catholics pray to statues?
^ An “icon” is defined as a “visual representation of something else.” The icons which Catholics pray to are representations of idols. Whether icon or idol, it is idolatry. Catholics pray to “icons” in disobedience to the Word of God. Sadly, devout Catholics defend their icon worship. The following statement is from http://www.oblates.net/Articles/icons.ht… “When we look at an icon, we are seeing an image of some attribute of God, either as Father, Son, or Holy Spirit. We are seeing an image of holiness in the depiction of the saints. We are seeing an image of Christ’s love for us in scenes from His life. We are looking at some aspect of the mystery of God.” Such nonsense is not taught in the Bible. God NEVER instructed us to pray with icons. God never asked us to pray in front of a statue of Mary. God never asked us to pray with any object. It is wicked for anyone to teach that God permits us to pray with icons o
