Why do christians put their hands together when they pray?
Prior to 1000 a.d. the common practice was for Christians to pray standing with their hands outstretched in a Crucifixion-Like posture until an architect noted that more worshippers could be packed into a Church if they prayed with their hands pressed together. In a related development several U.S. airlines announced this week that they will post a surcharge for the roomier exit aisle seats.
