Why do doctors order testing of IgG and IgM antibodies?

Do you mean if they are testing you for something in particular? Doctors tet for both IgG and IgM as they are raised at different times of an infection. If IgG levels are high this means that you had a previous infection or immunisation for the illness but if IgM is raised this menas that you have a recent or current infection. I think that is the way it is. Sorry haven’t done immunology in a while.
