Why do i keep losing my connection to the internet?

This is probably unrelated to your problems but I’m on virgin broadband too and over the past week at certain times of the day my connection has slowed down to a virtual standstill. I have a pc and a laptop, one has internet explorer on it the other has firefox, I keep different software and use different websites on each but both are affected. I’m on the 2mb broadband speed. Then I got my bill and in it is an offer to upgrade for free 4mb users to 10mb, but as I’m on 2mb I’d have to pay £7/month more to upgrade to 4mb first. Wether these problems are related to them doing ‘work’ to upgrade everyone or wether they’re hoping people will upgrade to a faster speed if they mess about and slow us down I don’t know. Call me cynical……..

Looks like a problem with that computer. For some reason it’s failing to keep the connection. If the other one is still working normally, and the other makes the connection and holds it for a short time then drops out, then something is failing or has failed. That could be a number of reasons ranging from hardware to reinstalling a driver.

You connection is probably not secure. Then again if you are connecting with a ethernet cable your modem may be faulty. If you connect with wireless try renewing your IP Address.
