Why do I need to fill out an ORYXtm vendor authorization form if Ive already filled out a form to participate in the American Hospital Association (AHA) Quality Initiative?
The Pledge of Participation form is your agreement to publicly report in the AHA Quality Initiative. The Hospital Authorization for Vendor Transmission of Data form authorizes your ORYXtm vendor to upload data to the QIO Clinical Data Warehouse. AHA gets its publicly reportable data from the QIO Clinical Data Warehouse, so if your vendor has not been authorized through the QIO to upload to the warehouse, your data will not be available for public reporting. The vendor authorization form also specifies which topics you want to upload and the discharge dates you will begin uploading for the purpose of participating in the CMS national clinical quality improvement projects.
