Why do local winds along coast and mountains change daily?
Answer Hi Sissy Local winds, sea breezes or land breezes are determined by the temperature over the water and over the land. If the air is cooler over the water than the land you get a sea breeze- i.e., wind moving from the water to the land. A land breeze is the exact opposite to a sea breeze with opposite causes. Both conditions require that no strong weather system is present to disrupt the local air flows.
