Why do modern president rarely hold cabinet meeting?
A president has a cabinet because he needs experts in certain eras to give him good advice. The president is only one man and can not possibly be a military expert, agricultural expert, and a professional scientist. That’s what the cabinet is for. For example, if the president is thinking about sending a shipment of food to a foreign country to help the poor, the agricultural expert might tell the president what to send, because maybe the local ecosystem would be put in danger if he sent a predatory plant like corn. Little scientific things like that are invaluable to the president.
