Why do most deciduous trees lose there leaves at winter?

0

All deciduous trees loose their leaves in winter. Trees which don’t are known as evergreen. Anyway, they loose the leaves to prevent damage to the plant from cold and frost. It allows the plant to conserve energy and to simply lie dormant untill the spring. Its kind of like hibernation for plants.
