Why do most massively multiplayer online games charge a monthly fee?
Massively multiplayer online games have a monthly fee, which is pretty standard in the video game market. The reason behind that is because we’ve got multiple years of development that go into these titles. So you may buy a game at the store for $50, which is great. But there has been three, four, sometimes even five years of development that have gone into that. And that five years of development can be anywhere from $4 million to $20 million of expenses that the company has to make back. So the monthly fee both recoups the money that’s been put into it, but it also provides new content that we actually give out for free.
