Why do Muslim women cover up?
Religious requirements. Most follow a tradition that make women, and girls, cover up their bodies. I was told that this helps to control lust in the males, and respect for women’s bodies. Another issue could be due to the areas in where most Muslims live. The Middle East is a harsh land, and the way they dress protects them from the heat and sand. In some religions, Faith and Tradition cross, and become one. Thus, their dress may be a law or a tradition that has become a law over time. I wish I have had more time to study Islam, but my area is currently hostile to non-christians (due to 9/11) and most have left the area to safer places. Gee, nothing like living in a tolerant nation.
