Why do my email notifications on sent and received packages have garbled characters?
A17: If an Internet Gateway account is shipping packages that contain Japanese language characters, some of those characters may appear in email notifications you will receive. Internet Gateway email notifications are designed to force your email program to display the messages in Shift-jis format. This will not work with some email programs, however. If your Japanese language characters are not displaying properly in your e-mail notifications, you probably need to change your character set to display in Shift-jis. This is usually done under the View menu then Character Set or Encoding in various browsers and e-mail applications.
