Why do peaches grow mold so quickly?

Answer Hi Jason, Sorry to hear your peaches molded quickly. Mold thrives in moist foods and ripe peaches do fit this description. Most peach producers dip their peaches in a fungacide to prevent the growth of mold and to extend shelf life. The grower/supplier of your peaches probably did not do this dip. You are not doing anything wrong — it’s just a natural occurance with peaches. As fas as the mold, we do not recommend consuming soft fruits with mold as some people are sensitive. Carol C.
