Why do people from Russia and Ukraine migrate to Hungary?
My husband is from Hungary and said that back in the “old days” of communnism, the Russian soldiers stationed in Hungary thought they were in Heaven.Hungary had plenty of good food and drinks etc. compaired to back home in Russia. I know times have changed but Hungary is still a bit more western in lifestyle and open mindness. We now live part-time in Hungary but back in 2000, we were on a family holiday to Hungary(we were visiting nagy mama) when two Russian prostitutes got into a verbal spat with my then 23 year old son over him accidentally shaking a bench they were also sharing. (It happened on Vaci Utca in the tourist area and we were just sitting waiting for our car)They really went over the top, yelling at him so I stepped in with my big mouth and called them ‘whores” which was true. Their pimp came over and outweighted my son by at least 100 lbs. so I almost got into it with him, thankfully my husband had just brought our car around the coner to where we were verbally fighting
