I think some people have the idea that private schools are all full of snooty rich kids. But those who have been to private school know that isn’t the truth. There are plenty of middle class kids with families who sacrifice to send their kid to private school for a better education. And good private schools tend to have about 20% of their students receiving financial aid. The proof is in the standardized tests. There are 3 scores on the tests. National (public schools), Suburban (top public schools) and Independent (private schools). 9 is the highest stanine score. If one receives a 5, 6 or 7 stanine (depends on exact subject test and test scores) on the test normed to private schools, it will be a 9 on the test normed to public schools and an 8 or 9 on the test normed to suburban public schools.
