Well, maybe its green tea and Zen, but I would disagree that Japan is attracting more people than a slow trickle. There is no magic to it. These are the things, along with ethnic, religion, sectarian violence, etc., that make people willing to leave their home and try somewhere else. What I don’t understand is why immigrants pick a country that is fairly hostile to the whole concept of immigration, where in some schools, children learn that the blood of Japanese people is higher quality blood than that of Filipinos.
