Why do people obsess over books and movie?
How can you possibly know that most people who are “huge fans” have too much free time? Just because people are fans of something does not mean that they obsess over it. People writing fan fiction does not mean they they are obsessed because they have no hobbies, it could just be that they want to be a writer in the future and think it is good practice or just have some ideas that they want people to know about but it does not mean that they are obsessed. They could just enjoy it. Camping for book signings could just simply mean that they are a fan (not necessarily obsessed, because even if you are just a fan, you may want to get books signed). Also, people could just be smart and think how much value a signed copy of a book could have in the future (or present). Even when people are obsessed with things it does not mean that they have loads of free time and no hobbies.
