Why do people use Jesus Christ or God as curse words?
Another reason people swear is that they must swear by someone bigger than themselves. You never hear anyone swear by their own name. It is also a force of habit. I read a tract once about someone who asked people who swore, “Why must God damn it?” I would like to do this someday but have never done it yet. Would be interesting though.
