Why do people worship the pope?
The Pope is not worshiped. He is highly respected by many people. This is mainly due not to his own accomplishments but by the fact that the Holy Spirit has selected him for the job. All Popes sin just like all people. Some Popes have sinned worse that others. In fact the entire Church is filled with sinners endeavoring to be saints. The Church: + Has always been filled with recovering sinners + Is filled with recovering sinners + Will be filled with recovering sinners until Jesus’ return in glory Even some of the Apostles that were hand-picked by Jesus Christ failed horribly: + Peter denied Christ three times and still went on to become the first Pope + Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Believe it or not, the Church is the best place for recovering sinners.
