Why do peoples veins pop out of their arms/feet/hands?
Gravity and pressure Hold your hand low below level of the heart. Watch the veins pop out. Then raise it over your head. Immediately, they will shrink down again. This is the difference between venous pressure and the force of gravity. Veins “pop” around muscles because the pressure that is being exerted by the muscle tissue, and also due to the low fat content under the skin. Usually fat hides the veins in the arms. Women can get this by using steroids to build muscle tissue and by removing all the fatty tissue from their arms, although it would be extremely difficult and unnatural. Men can get this by bodybuilding and dieting constantly. Normal people don’t have “popped veins” as a life goal.
