Why do Ratigan and Basil hate each other so much? Is it something personal?
a. Good question. It’s the same type of question about the long-standing war between Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty; the general consensus is that their animosity went a lot deeper than the usual “good guy/bad guy” thing. Perhaps it goes back to Basil and Ratigan’s childhood; or later in their lives, some danged thing happened between them to make them bitter enemies. As with their human counterparts, there are various debates and theories.
