Why do recruiters ask so many personal questions?
For the same reason that any professional consultant asks a lot of questions – to clearly understand your needs and to be able to formulate an effective strategy. If a recruiter does not interview you carefully, you should know that most likely the recruiter will do nothing with your information. An ill-informed recruiter can very rarely, if ever, find a candidate a position that is a good fit.
