Why do some windsurfing boards have no center board?
Don’t think of it as some do some don’t. The only real windsurfing boards that will ever have daggerboards are huge racing boards. Other than that, the only boards that have them are beginner boards, as centerboards help provide lift for beginners to sail upwind… More advanced windsurfers never use the centerboard because you can’t plane with a centerboard and just use the fin to sail upwind at much faster speeds, and after you’ve windsurfed a couple times sub-planing windsurfing doesn’t count as windsurfing…
