The Council takes water samples from all swimming pools, spas and paddling pools, which members of the public have access to. Theses microbiological tests are undertaken once a year and are sent to the Public Health Laboratory in Coventry for analysis. Samples of water are taken to show whether the systems in the swimming pool are cleaning and disinfecting the water well enough to keep it safe for pool users. If unsatisfactory results are received from the laboratory then the results are discussed with the Proprietor and appropriate remedial action in taken. In addition, pool plant operators will be taking regular checks of the chemical content of the water. Who is responsible for ensuring that the drinking water in the Borough is safe? Anglian Water is responsible fro the supply and quality of the Borough’s drinking water (Tel: 08457 145 145).
