Why do we need an indemnity clause if the contractor names MCCCD as additional insured on their insurance policy?

Insurance is only one way the contractor can protect us. If there is an indemnity provision in the contract, the contractor is obligated to indemnify us whether their insurance covers the loss or not.  more
