Why do we say “Yeshua” instead of “Jesus”?

It may be hard to imagine, but the Messiah was never called “Jesus” while he lived on earth. He was an Israeli and spoke Hebrew. His name was, and is, “Yeshua” and it means “salvation”. “Jesus” is the English translation of that name. Though “Jesus” is very acceptable in a church, at Adat HaTikvah, we prefer to use the Messiah’s Hebrew name.
