An itch occurs when a healing wound has new skin cells growing uner the scab itself. The scab pulls against the new skin cells causing an itch.

It’s your body’s way of letting you know you’re healing and to piss you off! LOL Nahhhhhhh I don’t know the REAL reason it itches, but at least it’s a GOOD thing….. even tho’ it irritates the heck out of you and drives you CRAZY!
