As I design in the first boats which can be build by amateurs, it is the simplest boat building system to learn. A. TOOLS Most first time boat builders will have already the tools in there workshop. Besides for example for vacuum backing you have to buy vacuum equipment and the necessary backing materials. This is expensive and you throw them away after use. Of course you can sell the vacuum equipment afterwards. But this are the least costs at the end. B. QUALITY CONTROLL If you build in a foam or balsa core system you have to learn how to work with these materials. It is difficult to check the quality of the work. In contrast in the wood/epoxy system it is easy by eye sight to check for example a bulkhead to planking connection or air inclusion in a glass cloth lay up. C. TIME Besides the strong back which you have to build to set up the bulkheads (necessary only for the bigger boats) every part you make will be part of the boat. In a foam sandwich construction you have to build firs
