Why do you suggest that a carbon block cartridge be added to the redox & carbon?

Even more effective purification is provided by combining the redox media & carbon with a sub-micron solid carbon block cartridge. We prefer solid carbon to a ceramic cartridge. The extra carbon extends the effectiveness of the system as a whole in removing organic pesticides and other chemicals. Filtering to a micron or less eliminates parasites and many bacteria which may be present in water. Most of these that survive the chlorine added by cities, are killed by the redox, but it is still desirable to remove them all. A newer technology called “Ultra Filtration” is now available in some of our systems. UF is similar to a reverse osmosis membrane, but with a much faster flow of water. UF filters to .02 microns, removing even extremely small particles, germs, etc.
