Why does a neutral wire have no voltage?

0

Relative to ground, the neutral has almost no voltage because the neutral is connected to ground at many places, including at the power station. If there is current flowing in the neutral line back to the power station, it can generate small voltages due to the resistance of the wire, so these are mostly eliminated by grounding the neutral locally at houses as well.
