Why does beer make people fat but vodka and wiskey dont?
That is a fallacy. All alcohol contains calories, liquor ounce for ounce is far higher than beer and if you have just one drink a day… regardless of type you can expect to gain around 15LBS per year. The whole idea that vodka and whiskey don’t cause weight gain started in the 90’s when The Atkin’s Diet was popular. Vodka doesn’t contain carbohydrates… Eventually people started to think it didn’t contain calories either. Beer does however contain carbs… but as we all now know weight gain isn’t just caused by them. Exercise more and you can drink whatever you want. I drink one to two beers a night and through exercise I’ve been able to maintain the same weight for the past two years… In fact I’ve lost 12LBS over the past three months. Average Calories: Beer: 100-160 per 12 ounces or just 8 to 13 per ounce Liquor: 75 per ounce Wine: 125 per 5 ounce serving or 25 per ounce. And the beautiful thing is 12 ounces of beer, 1.5 ounces of liquor and 5 ounces of wine all contain the same
