A group of Bloomingdale residents petitioned the county in the mid 1980s to create a special taxing district for the Bloomingdale area. The BSTD area includes every home in Bloomingdale East and West, with the exception of River Crossing Estates in Bloomingdale East.* How much does the BSTD cost residents? The taxing district assessment for Fiscal Year 2007 is $100 per residence. In November 2006, a majority of homeowners in the district approved a $30 per year increase. A $130 per year assessment per residence went into effect in the Fiscal Year of 2008. The assessment is added to each homeowners annual property tax bill.
