Why does Breakspear offer single Measles and Rubella vaccines when the clinic specialises in allergy and environmental medicine?
Although single mumps vaccines are no longer made, it is extremely important for children to have protection through immunisation, and we fear that parents may choose not to immunise their children at all if they can not obtain single vaccines as an alternative to the MMRII vaccine. We have discussed this view with the British Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) who have agreed to continue to give their consent to the import of single measles and single rubella vaccines that on this basis. If you suspect that you/your child has a sensitivity or reaction to eggs, we offer a desensitising programme prior to receiving the single vaccinations. More information is available in our Individual Measles and Rubella Vaccines section.
