Why does breathing rate increase during exercise (BTEC standard)?
After strenuous exercise the breathing rate will double the ventilation exchange will be increase and the oxygen consumption will be 10 times as strong because as the body moves more it needs more and more energy therefore it needs more oxygen and therefore it consumes more in order for our body to take more in. the reason because everything increases at tend of a strenuous exercise its because of aerobic respiration. In aerobic respiration glucose reacts with oxygen in mitochondria of the cell to release energy. The opposite of aerobic is anaerobic. Anaerobic respiration occurs when there is not enough oxygen available. In this type of respiration the glucose is moderately broken down, and lactic acid is produced along with a small amount of energy. If a person takes regular aerobic exercise their heart will benefit from it, for once it will work for a longer time so they live longer, it will stay healthy and its walls will stay elastic. At high altitudes, the lower air pressure makes
