People warn against work-at-home ’opportunities’ because most of them ARE some sort of scam. Not some, but MOST! And of those that are legitimate, you still make little or no money. Very few people ever make enough money in those things to even significantly supplement their income, let alone make a living at it. For every person who succeeds at an online, work-at-home offer, I would bet there are at least a thousand who didn’t. How many computers are out there and how many of those people are trying to find ways to make money with them? Unless you are selling your own belongings or products on Ebay or something like that, there just aren’t enough legitimate opportunities out there; but, there ARE plenty of scam opportunities out there to try to take advantage of people who are desperate, or just want to make money with their computer.
