Why does Ideal Image® use 2 types of lasers?

A. Laser hair removal is the foundation of our franchise. A quality laser center will have more than one type of laser or wavelength of light. The first laser we use has a wavelength of light targeted toward lighter skin types, and is the primary laser for hair removal. The second laser is FDA approved for all skin types and colors. Safety is always our first priority in any clinic. Many laser manufacturing salesmen will claim that although their laser is not FDA approved for all skin types, one can simply turn the power down (lower settings or increase the pulse width) and the treatment will be both safe and effective. If this were completely true there would be no need for lasers that are FDA approved for all skin types. The laser hair removal results decrease as the laser power settings are reduced. The patient will return after a treatment or two and complain of poor results. The treating practitioner will be tempted to increase the settings and now safe treatment is compromised. F
