Why does Modern art, modern music, and modern literature (prose and poetry) all suck?
You are confusing “art” with talent and they are not necessarily the same thing. In these postmodern times the “ART” consist of being able to persuade the “chattering classes” to part with huge sums of money for a load of crap. The more astonishingly audacious this is , the more of an artist you are considered to be. It’s a sign of a decadent society and people will laugh about it one day. Dont’ worry, in a couple of years the BNP thugs will drag all this rubbish into the streets and make a big bonfire out of it . Starting with the garbage produced by Hurst, Emin etc.
