Why does my baby sleep in her carseat and not in her crib?
The carseat holds her in a great position for sleeping, and is smaller than the crib. She probably feels safe. If she’s a newborn, she will feel most safe all bundled up tightly in a recieving blanket and put in the car seat. My daughter was like that for a few weeks – it’s no big deal. It’s fine for them… they’re not sleeping on their stomaches, which can cause SIDS, and they are somewhat upright, which means if they spit up while asleep, it drools down their front and they don’t choke on it. When it comes to putting her in the crib, I would suggest to wait until you can distinguish between a hurt/hungry/wet cry and an attention cry. Once you know the difference, you can put her in her crib, turn the light off, and walk out the door. If she usually listens to music while asleep, make sure it’s playing, or whatever other noise she’s used to.
