I´ve solved the same problem by downloading a firmware at creative.com (go to support – then to downloads and select english as language) this is like an update for the software of the MP3 player, if your computer doesn´t recognize the unit you have to download and install the mass storage driver also. SOLUTION: download the firmware, connect the MP3 player to the USB port and doble click the icon of the file. (it will format the MP3 and also removes the FM recording feature).
