Why does Natural Mineral Water have a Best Before Date if the water takes 15 years to filter though the rock strata?

0

Extracting the Natural Mineral Water from its underground, stable conditions, gives it exposure to oxygen. Over a period of time there may be a degree of oxidation of the naturally occurring minerals in the Natural Mineral Water which might give a small change to the composition of the water. Also, after two years in the bottle, there could be a mildly detectable plastic taint to the Natural Mineral Water. This is not unhealthy, unsafe or dangerous, but we have very rigorous standards on taste and odour, so we would recommend not drinking the Natural Mineral Water after 2 years.
