Why does Petco feed corn snakes crickets?

You are correct, corn snakes can not digest the exoskeleton of insects and should only be eating pinkies. Unfortunately so many petstores, not just petco, can’t seem to take proper care of the animals they sell, or not the correct way to care for them. Best ways to make a difference is… Don’t buy from them. That’s the best way to help. It’s not a rescue if you take a snake or any other animal from a petstore that isn’t caring for them correctly. You are just making it possible for them to buy more and supporting that kind of improper care. You can try to write letter to them, enough people complain things start to happen. Don’t stop at one either. Keep writing till you get real responses. You could try to educate the staff, see if they are receptive to change and your opinions. Work on them they work at a pet store so we can hope they want to do whats best for the animals. But do not buy from them, I say again that is not a rescue, that is just supporting the bad practise.
