Why does the ACLU represent Nazis and child molesters?
The ACLU believes that everyone is entitled to certain basic rights, such as adequate legal representation and freedom of speech, among others. A distasteful political viewpoint does not disqualify someone from having these rights. If the government can take away basic rights from the Nazis and child molesters, it is only a matter of time before these rights are threatened for all of us.
