Why does the Dalai Lhama keep being born in Tibet and Jesus almost always chooses Italians as Popes?
The Dalai Lama has been reborn in Tibet because he is the leader of the Tibetans, and because they are (or were until recently) the only country in which this kind of reborn masters were recognized (together with some neighbouring countries with the same kind of Buddhism, like Mongolia). Now when Tibetan Buddhism is spreading throughout the world, several Tibetan masters have actually been reborn in the West, and actually the Dalai Lama has very clearly stated that if Tibet is still an oppressed country when he dies, he will certainly not be reborn inside Chinese-controlled Tibet. The main reason the pope has almost exclusively been chosen among Italians (the two last ones were the first non-Italians for around 500 years) might be that he is also the bishop of Rome, and the Italians (especially the citizens of the city Rome) traditionally always wanted an Italian as their bishop.
