Why does the MBSA report sometimes show the IP address of the Microsoft Loopback Adapter instead of the primary adapter the computer uses for network access?
This can often occur depending upon the binding order of installed adapters. Both the adapter binding order and the number of installed adapters may affect this. For the most consistent identification of scanned computers, the use of the computer name is recommended, particularly when IP addresses are allocated by Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
