I believe it is attached to the machine that mixes the McFlurry and so the spoon is actually doing the mixing. I imagine you would want to use a different spoon for each McFlurry because of cross contamination of possible allergens, for instance getting traces of peanuts from one person’s McFlurry into another person’s.
